Take seven Google engineers and one bay area sales engineer. Rent one 12 person van. Have several laptops, GPS, webcam and EDGE cards and some scripting knowledge. What you get is a super cool real time google maps mashup.

Vissions of San Fran

I think its amazing how different San Francisco is from neighborhood to neighborhood, here a few photos I have taken in the last few months.

this first one was taken in the Tender Nob, some times it seems like some parts of San Francisco are dissolving...

This next one was actully taken on the other side of the golden gate bridge, it was amazing to see this guy stack these rocks... no clue involved.

The spider was my first black and white in a few years, it was taken near the ferry building downtown. I think that the sculpture is an amazing piece of art.

Weekend in San Fran

So I went to Berkley for the first time a few weeks ago. Yes thats right I have lived in the Bay area for over 2 years and have never been to Berkley. I went with some friends for a drive though the town and then down to the Gourmet Ghetto.

We found this interesting little Tea place. Here is a pic.

It was funny going to a Tea house in the US, I have been to places like this in China. The food was pretty good and the team was not too bad.

In general I did not think that Berkley was as good as I would expected. I thought it would be more hip and trendy but it was pretty quite and did not seem to have much going on.

I also went out to the mission, it was crazy weather out. My friends and I went to dinner at this interesting Asian place that had really good seared tuna... mmm seared tuna.

We were then going to the Elbow Room but it was raining like crazy so we stopped in to this super dive bar... Here is a pics of the WC.

I was down at Haight street and took some pics. Its funny some time San Francisco seems so gritty and rough. This picture was a of a electrical pole on the side walk, I thought it looked cool.

I think that this next pic really embodies the Haight, its kinda like a hippy flavor that is starting to get old and weathered, a bit sketchy but not really intimidating....

I took this one from one of the shee-shee foo-foo places popping up every where along Haight St. I just like this one because it has a voyeuristic feel to it.

In general I like cruising around that area, but I think it would be a lot cooler if they would not have so many uber trendy stores for hipsters and get back to the hippy roots.

Next week I will be going to Disneyland, I have never been their before. I am not sure what to expect. I hope that there are things to do for big kids like me. Either that of I hope that its is really lame and I can capture that in some photos....
